More Poems and Love Songs
‘More Poems and Love Songs’ documents the poet’s continuous journey through life. Once again, she shares her outlook on love and her relationship with God. However, be prepared! This book also contains poems which are a social commentary on the harsh reality of everyday life. If you enjoyed ‘Poems and Love Songs,’ then you will also appreciate this book.
Elijah J. McKenzie
Elijah J. Mckenzie is one of the poet’s favourite books. Published last year, it takes us on an emotional journey through the eyes of a 10 year old boy. Elijah is coming to terms with the tragic loss of his father. He experiences the several stages of grief but comes through it one day at a time with the love and understanding of his family.
His mother cradled him in her arms
As warm tears rolled down her face.
She examined his face and eyes for some response
But there was nothing; not a trace . . .
Elijah J. McKenzie is not coping
He is fit to burst.
He thinks no one understands what he is going through
Which makes matters worse.
His mother is also grieving
She misses her husband; her partner for life.
He was her best friend and confidante,
He was her other half and she was loving wife.

Please do not be confused. There are two books with the same title. One is a hardcover casewrap and the other is a beautifully presented picture book.
Elijah is coming to terms with the tragic loss of his father. He experiences the several stages of grief but comes through it one day at a time with the love, understanding and support of his family. Illustrations by Richard Thomas.
‘The youths scattered quickly
After the knife pierced the heart and blood was released;
The premeditated deed had been done.
Pain was inflicted
Death was imminent
Another mother will lose her son.’
This book is about Justice, a young teenager who is the latest victim of a gang crime. Justice had such a promising future but unfortunately, he was murdered on his way home. It was a case of being in the ‘Wrong place at the wrong time!’ It was a random killing ; unprovoked!
His family are devastated and are trying to make sense of their loss.

As believers praying comes to us naturally. They are heart felt; particularly when we are going through troubled times or when we are praying for others in their hour of need. They are beautiful and renewing when we give thanks, praise and worship. God knows our hearts and hear our prayers. It pleases Him that we enter into a relationship and communicate with Him. We tend to do that best through prayer. As a poet, I have included some of my prayers to encourage and hopefully bless you but this is your journal. This book is for you to scribe your own thoughts to share with the Lord.
‘Prayer Journal Two’ has just been published!
